What are the qualities of good teachers? of good students? of a good class?

Think about your answers before you post them. Make sure to proofread your response. Also, make sure to come back and comment upon one another's comments. Do you agree or disagree with what they are saying?

  1. I think the qualities of a good teacher are funny, creative, and laid back. In my opinion, if a teacher is funny it makes the class a lot easier and it makes it more fun. If the ways of teaching are creative it also makes the class more interesting. Finally, if a teacher is laid back it makes me able to relax. Good students usually possess the qualities kind, hard-working, and outgoing. A good class would consist of everybody participating, nobody talking while other people are talking, and kids asking questions.

  2. I think the qualities of a good teacher are funny, energized, and flexible. If a teacher is funny it makes the whole class enjoy listening to them and then it is easier for the teacher to talk without being interrupted. This makes learning easier for the entire class and helps stop side conversations and talking. Secondly, if a teacher is energized then it supercharges the class and gets everybody in the mood to learn. For example, if a teacher just sits and drones on and on and on ect. then nobody will want to learn. But on the other end of the spectrum if a teacher is fun and energized it makes the entire class pay attention. And lastly, if a teacher is flexible it makes a huge difference. If they are able to tweak the schedule a bit to help their students then it makes a huge difference. Good students are hard-working, unsatisfied, and go above and beyond. If they work hard then they will get better grades and learn more. If they are never satisfied then they will never be happy with being a "B" student and will always reach for an "A". And if they go above and beyond then they will get the most out of their education. And a good class consists of a good teacher, good students, and good manners. The first two are obvious. But good manners can make a huge difference in the learning of a class, a lot of classroom issues can be solved by using good manners and common sense.

  3. I feel like the qualities of a good teacher is they are funny, laid back, and someone who lets their students go there own way. I feel like I am more motivated when a teacher makes their class fun. I also like a teacher that is laid back and lets me do MY work the way I want to do it! I do way better when I am not being hounded by a teacher telling me everything I have to do. I feel like the qualities of a good student is one that is hard working, dedicated, and a motivated learner. I feel like you can’t succeed as a learner unless you are a hard-worker, but you can’t be a hard-worker unless you are motivated to work hard. You also have to be dedicated learner or there is no way you can achieve good grades. The qualities of a good class are a classroom filled with teachers that are funny, laid back, and someone who lets their students go there own way and students who are hard-working, motivated, and dedicated.

  4. Having a good teacher is an important part of learning. If you can not relate to them or understand them you will not learn as much as you should. Some qualities of a good teacher are knowledge of the topic, the ability to present the information in a way that holds your attention, and they have to be entertaining. They need the knowledge of the topic so they can teach it fully and answer all questions. But they need a way to teach that information in an interesting way. Lastly teachers need to be entertaining. If they are boring, uninteresting blobs no one will want to learn from them. Good teachers need to know about the topic, present it in an interesting way and are entertaining.
A good student needs to be prepared, willing, and hardworking. The student first needs to be ready to learn, if they aren't they won't. A good student also needs to be hard working. If they don't work hard they won't get as much out of school as they can. Lastly a good student needs to be willing to learn. Nothing matters if they don't want to learn. A good student needs to be prepared, hardworking and willing to learn.
A good class is a mix of the two it needs to have a good engaging, sharp teacher, and students that are ready and willing to learn as much as they can from that teacher.

  5. The qualities of good teachers, good students, and a good class in general are all related. The ideal class depends on the students and the teacher equally. It is definitely not just the teacher that makes up a good class.
A good teacher is one who knows the subject very well. One test of seeing how well you know something is how well you can teach it. That is definitely not all, though. A teacher is much like a parent. They don't have to care completely for their students, but they still have to be willing to put a lot of time and effort into students. A teacher needs to be willing to listen to his/her students. A good teacher may also have to be willing to repeat instructions. He/she is organized. He/she has to be selfless and humble. When a student asks a question, the teacher shouldn't slam the student for not knowing the answer, unless they had been told it already more than twice. A teacher doesn't get a lot of free time, and that is just the truth. The subject that he/she teaches and the students that he/she has should be his/her main focus, outside of his/her direct family.
Then again, it is difficult to be a good teacher without good students. Good students are very organized. That is extremely important. They take notes and listen to their teacher. Though they should be respectful and listen, they should not be afraid to talk. Good students ask questions. They help others. They don't claim to know more than a teacher. They should keep a good attitude, even if they don't like their class. They must turn in their work, pay attention, study for tests, and smile. Yea, a student should smile. It is a privilege to learn, and a student should recall that not everyone has that.
A good class is one that has both a good teacher and good students. Having a good class, though, can also depend on the equipment used in class. If the supplies/equipment is not sufficient for the material that needs to be taught, then the class won't be good. If the classroom is old and broken down, then the class won't be good. If the temperature is too extreme, then the class won't be good. Students and teachers can't think as well when it is too hot or cold. The rest of the school also needs to support the class. Everyone and everything depends on each other. School in general should not be run by one person. Recall that it takes a whole village to raise one child.

    1. Oh, I nearly forgot. One very important part of being a good teacher is being encouraging! A student will never be able to get through difficult assignments without encouraging comments from others. It doesn't have to be a teacher, though; it could be a student, too. Not every student has a good situation at home, so other students and the teacher should be willing to step in and make that student feel happy and welcome at school, even if they don't feel that at home.

  6. The most important quality of a good teacher is their sense of humor! I learn so much better when my teacher is able to joke and laugh and when I am able to laugh with them. I get so stressed when my teacher is really uptight or serious because I feel like I can't even be myself around them. I also believe that it is very important for a teacher to be intelligent and encouraging. If a teacher isn't really smart and is just reading straight from the textbook, it's really hard for the students to learn anything. It's much easier when they know what they're talking about. If they're encouraging, I don't feel as pressured and I'm more eager to learn and succeed.
Being responsible, confident, and respectful are the best qualities that a student can have (in my opinion). You don't have to be a super genius to be a good student, just have the qualities that I previously mentioned. As long as you're eager to participate and learn and do what you're supposed to be doing, then I think you're a wonderful student.
Finally, I believe that the best quality of a good class is when each person is respectful. They should be able to listen and keep quiet when others are speaking, and they should be able to talk with confidence when it is their turn to speak. A good class should be able to get along and should be able to help each other, regardless of any unpleasant personal feelings outside of the classroom. A good class also consists of a good teacher; they should all be able to get along and all be respectful towards one another.
All in all, it really just comes down to doing the right thing! :)

  7. Good students usually result from good teachers. Good teachers were usually once good students themselves. A good teacher critiques without criticizing, and is always encouraging. Some of my best teachers were those who stayed on topic and were challenging but also willing to have fun with the students, because lecturing is boring- and kids often have selective hearing, so if learning is fun for them, it is more likely that they will tune in. Good teachers should also understand the Multiple Intelligences theory and use this in their classroom, so that visual, musical, audio and hands-on learners can all be challenged and learn in the best way possible for them. In my opinion, the most important quality of a teacher is their ability to teach and their willingness to do so. If a teacher doesn't teach the class, the class won't learn. Simple as that.
Good students are the ones who are interested in what is being taught. They listen, they are organized, and they are respectful to the teacher, classroom, and their peers. Good students don't have to be geniuses. If they turn in their assignments on time, pay attention to the lesson, and come in for help when they need it, they'll do fine on assessments and in class.
Basically, good students are the result of good teachers. And the best teachers are happy teachers- and that comes from good students. So we all depend on each other!

  8. I fell like the qualities of a good teacher are funny, creative and willing to give the students some freedom. When a teacher is funny or energetic it keeps the students interested and motivated to come to class or participate. When a teacher is creative and does interesting projects or assignments it is more enjoyable for the students and we are motivated to work harder. Also if a teacher gives the students some freedom the student will be able to be creative and have fun while still learning and applying their knowledge. I think good qualities in a student are focused, hardworking, and creative. When students work hard and do their best it benefits not just themselves but their whole class. Qualities of a good class include being able to work together despite being best friends (or not.) A class should be able to also focus and pay attention when the time is right. The class should also be able to respect each other and their opinions.

  9. In my opinion, in order to be a good teacher, a teacher has to be familiar with the material he or she is teaching. Otherwise, the teacher won't be able to explain the content very well to the students. Also, a good teacher is able and willing to help someone who didn't understand something in class. Teachers should also be encouraging. It is the job of a teacher to personally make sure that the students are learning and to help them along the way. A good teacher should also be able to make the content interesting. Sometimes, it's very hard for a student to pay attention in class because the teacher is talking about a topic that doesn't interest the student. However, if the teacher is able to make the topic interesting, by putting in some short, fun, and relevant activities - like a game, for example. Of course, students have to put in an effort as well. They should be willing to ask for help from a teacher if they don't understand something. A student should also try to pay attention in class, even if they really don't like that particular class or subject. A good student should always be punctual, always turn in his or her homework, be confident in themselves, always try his or her best, and participate in class discussions. If a student thinks of a thought provoking question, he or she should ask the question. You never know when something you say will have an impact on someone else's life. Good posture in class is also important. Students should let their teachers know that all their hard work isn't going to waste by sitting up strait in class instead of slouching. Good teachers and good students are part of making a class great. In a great class, students are willing to participate in activities, even if they don't know anyone in their group. A class should be respectful of everyone, and supportive as well, because otherwise no one would be willing to offer up their opinion because they are afraid that people will make fun of them. All these components are included in what it takes to complete the learning experience.

  10. There are many qualities that make a good teacher, some can be specific towards a particular subject or student, but as a whole, a good teacher should have the following. She should be excited to teach! If the students came to class everyday with someone who didn't want to be there, they wouldn't want to be there either, which would make the time much less enjoyable and frankly, pointless. Also, a teacher needs to be someone who is up to speed with current technology. If our teacher is not "Tech Savvy" it makes the students feel as though they are teaching the teacher. However, the most important thing is that the teacher must be full of energy, ideas, and a passion for his or her subject. A good teacher can make or break a good student. They have a huge influence over our lives and over who we are becoming as people and as students. To be a good student, you must be excited and willing to learn, motivated to do your best, and respectful of those around you. Students must be just as passionate as their teacher and this will ultimately create a great class. In a nutshell, a good student is someone who comes in with bright eyes and a thirst for knowledge.

  11. In order for a student to learn properly, they need a good teacher. I believe a good teacher is someone who will be supportive to any student. A good teacher will, with valid excuse, understand that sometimes problems will arise making it sometimes impossible to complete something. All teachers should be able to offer their help. I think a great teacher will find a way to keep their teaching fresh and new, even if they have taught for years. An admirable teacher will try to make all students feel comfortable so that they can easily learn without having to be rigid. Most importantly, a good teacher should be able to teach, meaning that each student should be able to go to class and learn. The students should be able to take the tools that the teacher has given them and use the tools to make something productive that they can use in life. I agree with emilyw2016, that good students result from good teachers.
There are several qualities that a good student should have. A student should be able to cooperate with the teacher. A good student will listen to the teacher, take what they have learned, and apply it to every day life and their future. A student should and want to actively participate. The student should realize that they are there to learn and not to socialize. They need to know that his will help them in their future.
A good class should be just like a good student. But, a class can be better for a learning experience. With a class you are able to collaborate and think of things in new, creative way than you would have alone. A class should help one another in their learning experience along with the teacher. The class should respect each others opinion and give them respect. When all these things come together it will make for a successful classroom.

    1. I agree with you. It is very important for teachers to change up their lessons, even just a little, so that the kids in the class continue to actively listen. Teachers don't have to play games or barely cover any material to keep students' attention, they just need to find creative ways to make learning more engaging. A good class is also very important. The people in your class can be very helpful to you as you learn. Sometimes they are able to explain something to you in a way that you understand, when the teacher may not quite understand how you are thinking about it. Good students are always helpful and will work together to gain more knowledge.

  12. In order to call one a “good” teacher, I think they should be able to completely engage the class in a manner that is entertaining for the environment yet able to be beneficial to the students when the bell rings for their dismissal. This teacher is also able to infuse knowledge into the brains of their students, without them knowing they did so. Feeling forced to learn or having information smacked in one’s face is not the best learning style for most students. Some of my spectacular teachers have been easy to connect with and easy to approach. This is essential so the students feel as if they are dangling by their last hair; they can seek assistance from the teacher.
In my opinion, good students are ones that are a part of the community and are able to interact with the class. The students should be able to share stories or facts with the class and are completely caught up with the events around them. However, with this a student needs to be responsible and able to turn homework in on time and come to class every day with the correct necessities. Students who are driven are able to make goals AND reach them.
A good class is full of all the above but also different personalities. For example, the shy students who calm down the obnoxious students are an excellent addition. With different personalities clashing in one room, more memories can be made. The class needs to let loose and laugh, but also achieve great heights in their academics along the way.

  13. In my opinion, a good teacher is one that is persistent, relaxed, and humorous. The best teachers are ones that are persistent, yet relaxed. If a teacher says that they will do something, then they need to follow through and do it. If a teacher says that they will be expecting the class to meet a goal, the teacher needs to follow up and make sure the class did meet that quota, yet not pushing and screaming at them to do so. Good teachers also need to be humorous. Teachers that are fun make the class exciting. If a teacher is bland, then everyone will get board, no one will pay attention and no one will learn. If a teacher brings humor into the classroom, everyone is bound to have fun, yet learn and grow at the same time.
A good student is one that thinks out of the box, is organized, and respectful. If a student just meets the standards and doesn't go above and beyond, they might pass, but they will not shine. If a student organized, they can find all or their projects and homework. Homework and projects matter, so a good student will make sure to turn everything in on time. In order to be a good student, you have to be respectful. If you are disruptive during class, you take away from everyone's learning, not just yours. You also need to listen to the teacher and not talk during class.
A good class is one that is responsible, attentive, and supportive. A class needs to be responsible, turning work in on time, fallowing through with teachers instructions, and checking their grades to make sure they aren't dropping. Good classes also need to be attentive, paying attention to the teacher and engaging themselves by asking questions. Lastly, a good class needs to be supportive of their classmates, otherwise no one would want to participate or share their ideas, which are important to learning.

  14. In my opinion, a good teacher is flexible to their plans, has a sense of humor, and can have numerous ways of explaining things. Teachers should be flexible because things don’t always happen the way we plan them, and you should always expect the unexpected. For example, in a math class, the teacher might have planned a quiz for that day, but the students don’t necessarily understand everything that they should on that subject. Another quality of a good teacher is a sense of humor. I believe in order to have a class pay attention and succeed is when the teacher can add something entertaining in, but also be able to keep the class on the topic and lesson. Yet, every great teacher can have multiple ways of explaining the topic they would teach that day. Not everyone learns at the same pace, and could need extra explanation. You could also tie this to flexibility, because you sometimes a teacher would have half the class that may not understand fully or could need extra help relearning a lesson, whereas the other half would be moving on to a different lesson.
Good students are hard workers, are able to communicate well with their teachers, and can stay on focused on the subject. Everyone, not just students, should be able to work hard in everything you do, and always strive to make yourself better in everything you do. Students also should be able to communicate with their teachers because they are with them for that subject the entire year, and if they can’t talk to each other for whatever reason there would be it wouldn’t be a good learning environment on their part. Lastly, students need to be able to stay focused and not think about the things that could be happening in the hall way next to them or outside of school. They are put in school to learn, and they should be able to stay focused the whole class.
If you tie everything that I have said about teachers and students, you should get a good class that everyone can learn in. Students and teachers should give their 100% every class period they are in because if both parties don’t put forth the effort, then no one will be able to succeed. I feel that everyone should be able to get along in a class, no matter the differences going on out of school, you’re in class to learn, not to make drama!

  15. I think that the qualities of a good teacher is openness to new ideas, calmness, and being able to relax a little and give students a good basis of knowledge they will need before going into very hard things. Teachers should be able to have fun in their classrooms while teaching their students. A good teacher should keep up on grades and not lose the students work. In return, a good student needs to posse the ability to talk to the teacher, speak up in class, and stay on top of their work and schedule. A good student is able to work with other students well and always maintain a good attitude towards class work, homework, and partner projects. A good class should work well together, be able to help one another out, and be able to have fun. They should be focused and attentive when their peer or their teacher is talking. A good class should joke around but not stray totally off-topic.

  16. I think that being called a good teacher would mean that you were serious enough to get all the learning necessary done, but also a person that a great sense of humor. I believe that when teachers have a sense of humor it makes the class more intriguing and makes the students feel less pressure. I have also noticed that one of the traits that separate good teachers and great teachers is the ability to connect to their students.
The qualities that I think good students have are the following, organized, on time, healthy outside of the classroom, is an active learner, and students that try before asking for help. Organized students and students that are on time make good students because they will be able to pay attention instead of looking for supplies, and they won't be missing anything by being on time. Students that make healthy choices are better students because they have less of a chance of getting sick and they won't be as tired as other students who don't eat the right things. I also believe that active learners who try to attempt things before asking for help are better students because they are showing that they want to be at and participate at school.
Qualities that make a good class are is the combination of a great teacher and great students, who listen to other opinions and that respect each other. People who care about their own and others time so they know to be on task.

  17. The integrity of a successful class depends on the cooperation, ingenuity, and work ethic of its students in addtion to the dedication and enthusiasm of its teacher. Students, in order to make a class successful, must work creatively and formulate new ideas and perspectives. They must approach schoolwork with an open mind and work to expand their knoweledge and bring assignmets to a higher level of academics with inventiveness and creativityity. Additionally, they must priortize schoolwork appropriately and develop a respect for the classroom and classmates.

Teachers also play a role in bringing a class to a standard of success. They must inspire and energize their students by generating enthusiasm. The enthusiasm and dedication of a teacher quickly becomes evident, not only in the way they express it, but also in the smallest of details: the creativity with which they plan assignments, the willingness to adapt to the students' needs, and even the level of energy with which they speak or move about the classroom. When students become aware that a teacher possesses a genuine interest in their learning, the students' own interest in learning increases.

  18. A good teacher is one who pushes, who knows what one can accomplish and being right there along with them for the whole journey, however long. They prepare students for tests, but more importantly their futures. A good English student is one who's not afraid to be judged, who's not scared to lay it all on the line because that, that is what makes a GREAT piece. With that said, its the class's job to not have a student feel judged for their work or who they are or what they like. An English classroom should feel like a safe zone, where students can be honest with themselves

  19. A good teacher is one who educates not how to take a test, but how to speak the language. They allow you to learn from your mistakes by guiding you and helping you find your path, because you learn the most when you struggle. Students that excel in school are the ones who keep an open mind. Feeling safe in your class, and being able to gather new information allows them a better learning environment. For the whole class to succeed they must listen to others and learn from not only from the teacher but from what other students are doing to succeed as well.

  20. A good teacher is someone who teaches student how to think and process information, not someone who just feeds students what they need to know.He or she understands the pressures and difficulties that the students are experiencing, and helps them navigate them relatively unscathed. A good teacher inspires students to challenge their selves in every aspect of their lives. A model student accepts every challenge given to them and puts their all into each and every one. He or she is responsible with his or her work and stays organized. A good student is prepared and participates in every class. This student must be mentally tough and be able to handle the pressure of their multiple classes. As a class students need to work as a team and act for the best of the group and not just for selfish reasons. They respect the teacher highly and are prepared to attempt any project, seminar, test etc. with a positive knowledge-hungry attitude.

  21. As a student at Arapahoe high school I see all around me what good students, good teachers, and good classes look like. A good class is always in discussion or is always working on projects all the while as they learn. A good student listens intently to others and does what the teacher tells them, however if they do not agree with the assignment then they should bring it up with the teacher outside of class hours in a private setting. Good teachers will always have a handle on their students and class room and they will make it at least somewhat enjoyable so that they keep the kids interested in learning.

  22. A good teacher is one that engages with their students. Even if they can teach very well, if they don't take the time to engage with and get to know their students, it would be hard to educate them thoroughly. A good teacher is also a teacher that can push their students. Pushing their students would allow them to be challenged to their full extent, therefore making them work harder and also expand their knowledge of many things. A good student is one that doesn't get in the way of another student's learning. For example, if the student chooses not to participate fully in a group activity, that would not make them a bad student. What would make them a bad student, though, is how they would effect the other students' learning. A good student also must be curious and open to learning new things.

  23. I feel that qualities of good teachers and students are similar to each other. To add, I feel that good teachers and students make for a good class.
Good teachers are those that try to make the class entertaining yet, they help their students truly understand and process material. Continuing, a good teacher must be easily approachable. They must be willing to have a relationship with their student that is friendly. Also, a good teacher will do his or her best to ensure that the class runs smoothly. They will help out students when they are struggling and offer them words of advice and helpful tips. A good teacher will be a thorough grader that offers constructive criticism to help his or her student achieve success. Furthermore, a good teacher will be open to taking constructive criticism or suggestions around the way lessons are taught or how the classroom works. Good students are those who lead. They take the initiative and are confident as well as comfortable making a mistake. They are able to complete homework in time and do well on tests. A good student will come to the teacher when they see that they are struggling or they do not understand a concept. Good students will help their peers to understand concepts or assignments. They will bring new and outside-the-box ideas out in their writing as well as in their classroom discussions. A good student will be friendly, encouraging, and happy to learn. A good class is made of a good teacher and good students. A good class is a cheery environment where students are able to laugh and enjoy themselves every once in a while. It is a place where students can feel comfortable and learn to their highest capabilities. A good class will make sure that everyone is included in classroom discussions or other group activities.

  24. The most important quality of a good teacher is flexibility. Although most kids spend a majority of their day in a classroom, they are not just students. Kids are athletes, artists, journalists, performers, and friends. Teachers should be able to realize that. Giving students hours upon hours of homework a night is an almost impossible task to accomplish. I believe that a teacher needs to be flexible on the methods they use to teach a student. Not all people learn the same way. Some can simply read a piece of text and understand it, while others need to evaluate the text after they have read it. By adjusting lessons that will adhere to how multiple people learn, students will come out of a class more knowledgeable. But by the same token, I believe students must be determined to do their best. School is a time to discover ones self and ones passions. Yet the main purpose of school is to become a better-educated individual. Students should be determined to succeed. They should be determined to fulfill their academic potential.
I believe an important quality of a class is encouragement. Classes will be working together for an entire school year and should be able to help each other. Kids should be able to come to school knowing they will get what they need from other people. Whether teachers are helping students on schoolwork or students are brightening one another’s day, I think that encouragement it the classroom will help students to be successful.

  25. After experiencing some great, some good, and some awful teachers, classes and students, I think that for a teacher to be good, they need to be some if not all of the following. First, the teacher needs to love kids and teaching them. If they hate their profession, it shows through to the students and when they know that a teacher is unhappy, they think the teacher's angry at them, which just throws off the entire class. The teacher also needs to be kind and patient with their students because if the teacher won't work with their shortcomings, the student will get frustrated with the teacher, check-out and not pay attention to what that teacher is saying, which makes the student's learning experience decrease by ten-fold. Also, to be a good teacher, they should be open-minded to what the students have to say and other opinions besides their own, and seem non-threatening to ask a question of. I've had a few teachers who are just downright scary to talk to because you are always "walking on eggshells" trying not to set the teacher off if you ask a less-intelligent question, or don't understand what you are supposed to be doing. It's the teacher's job to dispel any of those notions that they don't like to be questioned or that it's their way of thinking or no way.
A good student should bear with teachers on a bad day, because that just means that the teacher is only human for feel grumpy for a while. The student should also make the teacher's job as easy as possible by turning in work on time, not talking when the teacher is talking, and working hard on all of their work. A superior student must also be respectful of all of their other classmates and being quiet helps keep class flowing smoothly and all of the students hearing the instructions clearly.
A great class is a class where both the students and the teachers live up to the expectations above, and the class will mesh together, work hard, get good grades, and make that class a fun place to learn.

  26. I think that in order to be a good teacher you should possess a couple of key qualities. These qualities include patience, a sense of humor, the ability to explain concepts in a way that majority of students will be able to understand, and relate to other people easily. Patience because it can be a long period of time until the person you are teaching understands what you are saying. A sense of humor because students are in a classroom for 6 hours 5 days a week, and can't always be serious the whole time. Cracking a good joke always helps relieve some of the stress of school and brightens the intended target's mood.
A good student should try to be diligent, respectful, and ready to learn. The reason for being in school is to learn as much as possible to get ready for your future. To make the most of your experience you should work hard all the time and do your best. Without respect, the classroom would not be a fun place to sit for a whole school day. Good students are respectful to other students, teachers, and anything else that may be in the classroom. Lastly, they are ready to learn. They come to class everyday prepared and in a pretty good mood to participate in whatever activity that may be thrown at them.
In a good class everyone should listen to instructions and do their best to not interrupt the class activities. When a whole class listens to instructions, the whole class knows what to do, when to do it and why. Good classrooms also do not interrupt the class activities. Not only is it rude, but you also take away other's learning time. If everyone does their part, then the school day will run a lot smoother.

  27. A class requires good students and a good teacher to be successful. Students need to work together as well as with the teacher. Kids should be encouraging and be able to help each other. A good class stays focused while having fun durring discussions, projects, and other class activities. Everyone needs to participate for a class to be triumphant. A good teacher can control the class and be fun/laid back at the same time. Good teachers allow you to learn from your mistakes and reassure you that you can acomplish what you wish. Teachers and students should interact in a way that shows and allows them to respect and be comfortable around each other. A good student is a leader as well as a listener. They should participate in class often and listen respectfully. A student should also be hardworking, reliable, and motivated.

  29. 'Good' is such an overused term. What does it really mean to have 'good' teachers, students, and classmates? As each will individually interpret this, I see it as how effectively a group of people work together. Certain characteristics demonstrated by everyone involved, however, can make all the difference.
It's important to educate our students with committed teachers. Qualities I feel a good teacher posses are flexibility, passion, and a love for challenge. Flexibility is an important feature because not all children think the same. An effective teacher should understand and adjust to students with different learning abilities. A teacher that is passionate will spark interest in their students as well. Kids learn from example. Challenge will confront children and hold their attention. When students are mindlessly completing worksheets, they're disengaged and bored, but when using material in a way they find relevant, students are stimulated and creatively alert.
Effective students need to practice positive behavior, effort, and stay open to new ideas. Positive behavior really influences the well-being of the class. Peers feed off each other's energy, and it takes a group to make things happen. Effort is a student demonstrating they care. Effort will improve cooperation between students and their teachers. Students need to be open to unique learning exercises to widen their knowledge and challenge their own ideas.
A good class is a class who empowers one another. Rather than competing, problem solvers collaborate to find a best fit solution. All three components, teachers, students, and the class play a role in providing learners (Teachers are learners too!) with a positive growing environment.

  30. A good teacher has to be patient, kind, strict, and fun. Teacher need this balance to keep the class in line, but still not have a lecture every day. A good teacher needs to lead kids to the edge of the cliff, but not push them off the edge with massive loads of homework. A good teacher should make kids actively think on a daily basis. A good teacher should know that we can't process loads of homework each night with sports, and other classes.
A good student must be prepared everyday with the things needed for class. They must be on time, ready to face whatever comes at them. Students need to be leaders to other kids and help them when needed. A good student must be organized, and listen intently when anyone is speaking. A good student must have respect for people, and property. A good student should be outgoing and ready to answer any question confidently, and not be afraid you will make a mistake. A good class will encourage everyone to stay on task, have a fun time while making sure the work gets done, and supporting each other when working on projects, or having discussions.
    A good class

  31. I think that a good teacher can understand the students. Whether that means how they learn, the pace at which they learn, and possibly home life (but only if the kid is willing to say, don't force anything.) And also the students have to understand the teacher, to know that the teacher does have a life outside of school and cannot always be there, but also how the teacher can be there when someone is in need.
Good students respect the teacher and know that all of the hours of homework they assign actually are to help prepare us for our future, not just to keep us from having a social life. Because even though as much as we students might think that a teacher hates us and punishes us buy giving us homework, they are just trying to help.
A good class is focused, work is actually getting done and people are being productive. It's not just a jumbled chaotic mess that is hard to concentrate in.

  32. Some of the characteristics I like in a teacher are humor, wit, and an appreciation for sarcasm and jokes. However, I also think they should be patient, kind, understanding, and smart. As for students, a willingness to learn is HUGE!. But they also need to be active-socially, mentally, and physically. A good class need to be able to work well togheter, both in a learning environment and outside the classroom. Also, the focus needs to be on learning and not messing around. Ideally, a classroom should be the teacher and students working together almost perfectly.

  33. “Qualities compose character, and character is defined by attitude. Choose the qualities of a stellar attitude.”
I believe that a “good” teacher can be an exemplary teacher! First, they need to help the class, and they should administer inspiration to the students. Secondly, once teachers teach a skill, they should help their students perfect it! It won’t do a student any good if the teacher doesn’t help them learn a skill to the point where they can use it! Lastly, teachers need to institute fun learning. Few students enjoy lots of homework and repetition of assignments/practice from skill to skill. Teachers should switch it up and make learning fun! The next key to having an exemplary class, is exemplary students! Students first need to understand their purpose at school. Understanding this key element of success in learning, students can have a good attitude, which helps brighten the mood of the class! Next, students need to have respect for the teacher! Once this attribute has been acquired, students will find themselves listening better and becoming more interested in the lesson! After this takes place, a class can run smoothly and successfully! A class becomes the best it can be when it is full of both stellar students and a stellar teacher, but most importantly, when both parties work together in simultaneous understanding of purpose and application.

  34. Good teachers can often be hard to come across. Good students are rare. A good class, results in the ultimate goal of learning. Teachers and students constantly have to work together resulting in the best opportunity to achieve success.
In order for a teacher to be categorized as good, the qualities of being able to capture the attention of students relies on connecting, positive criticism, and the ability to bring energy to the classroom. Best friends are usually the ones who get the most attention. The reason why is because of the connections they share with that other person. The case is similar for a student and teacher. A student will willingly give a teacher their attention if that student knows the teacher on a more personal note. Teachers should try their best to reach out to the student, and in return, they will most likely work their hardest, (like a good friend would). When anyone does wrong, they don’t want to be torn apart and brought down, but lifted up. Just as parents do with young children, a student’s confidence in the subject won’t disappear if they are applauded for what was done correctly, and then told what should have been. The result of the student won’t be negative, even if the work was completely wrong. Lastly, teachers need to have energy. The mood of a room can be determined by any one person. A good teacher would step up and set the mood even before a class enters. Hopefully the high energy environment would influence the students at work and inspire them to give it their all. But also a fast pace, high energy class would definitely keep the students from falling asleep!
The most successful students are the ones that are organized, consistently asking for help, and respectful. Organization is a key part of learning. Without an orderly system to keep track of work, the student would not have the chance to study in order to prepare for class. A student cannot be scared of speaking up and asking for help. Even a great teacher won’t know who is struggling if it does not appear so. Asking for help includes sacrificing an ideal socializing moment like lunch to get the work done and make clear what they were confused about. Students need to respect all teachers. Even if the teacher is not the best, respect is a trait that would come naturally to a star student. The teacher is just trying to prepare students for the future, and giving his/her dedicated time. In return, a student can demonstrate their respect by performing the same level of dedication and hard work as their teacher.
The classroom is where teachers and students interact. A good teacher and good students would be able to work together because both are aiming for the same goal which would be to succeed in the future. A teacher’s ability to connect, give positive feedback, and energize students, and the organization, confidence to ask for help, and respect of students would result in the perfect class. A teacher and student might be good on their own, but together they could be great.

  35. There are three key components to a beneficial learning experience in a class room: the teacher, the students, and the interaction between the two. The process begins with a great educator. This person needs to be encouraging and always helpful despite the happenings of the day. Being learned in their own subject can also be a vast contribution to the class as well as teaching in multiple ways so that all the students, no matter what learning style, understand the material. Then, there is the second piece of the puzzle. So much more than just passing should be important to a student. We need to be organized, attentive, and happy to be in such a wonderful learning environment; thus, displaying it in our actions by completing assignments and so forth. Finally is the interaction between the scholar and the tutor. This relationship requires more than a paper passed to the end of the row. The students must have trust in the teacher and vice versa. Involvement and investment are two vital ideas and emotions that the pair must give each other. So, with a successful relationship between the invested educator and the involved student, a perfect classroom should blossom.

  36. All three questions answers are based around potential, drive, and respect. Those are the three essentials for school in general.
A good teacher must push her students to their potential so they can learn how to learn and how to think, it is easy to learn the information if you can do those things. She must also push her students potentials to the next level so that they can train their brains to think in different ways and be problem solvers in life. Academic potential, potential in life, and potential to change the world is what we are being prepared for by a good teacher. A good teacher also pushes us so that we have to work hard and want to be great and fufill our potential, but that type of success requires our good teacher to tap into our drive. Drive is what makes a teacher a level above the rest, drive is the difference from a great teacher to a teacher that changes your life. A teacher works hard because she loves to teach and see her students be successful, but a driven teacher teaches because they love to teach and because they want to see her generation of students change the world. The last essential is respect. My middle school language arts teachers always told us that if we wanted respect we had to be the ones to show it first. A quality professional teacher respects her students maybe not because she likes them but because they are her students. She does not have to like them but if she respects them that tells a student a lot about how professionally their teacher acts. Potential, drive, and respect make an absolutely amazing teacher whose class is something that changes a student.
A good student realizes his potential and works as hard as he possibly can to reach it. He wants his teacher to push him as hard as he can be pushed and still be on his feet. Wanting to work hard and accomplish greatness is working to fufill your potential which is never limited unless one outs a limit on that himself. Ones drive is what makes him remove all barriers from his potential and accomplish greatness. Changing the world doesn't come by wishful thinking, it comes by determination and drive. A driven student can accomplish anything the skies may not even be his limit. A driven student challenges himself in honors and AP classes and works for those A's and when you tell yourself in your mind that nothing can stop you from success you are on your way to success. Respect is a big thing to remember. It would be terrible to be anything but respectful to the teacher that will make you successful. Be the first one to show respect that's what a good student does. Respecting your teachers only lead to good things. Potential, drive, and respect equal one very good student.
A good class realizes the potential of every member. They realize what this class could do, all the great things that lie ahead of them if only they work hard. An even greater potential is reached when the class and the teacher join forces to uncover knowledge and conquest for the true potential for greatness, success, and the ability to change the world. A good class should also push one another to be driven. Drive means going the extra mile and putting extra work into something even when it's tempting to do something else. A good class wants to change the world someday and is very driven to do so. Respect is also a necessity in today's society. Everyone wants to be treated with respect so show everyone that courtesy not necessarily because it will benefit you directly but because it is the right thing to do. Potential, drive, and respect make a good teacher, good students, a good class, and a great year in English.

  37. In order to create a successful class, both students and teachers work together and have fun doing it. The qualities a good teacher should have are they need to be organized, should know how to use technology given, and should enjoy what they are doing. On the other hand, students should be willing to work, be organized, and willing to listen to others while they are talking. When both students and teachers are working hard and doing their part, the class will be successful. With all the technology that is being provided for us, we need to take advantage of it and use it whenever we can. For group projects, no one should be excluded from the group, they should all work together to put forth a piece of work that they are all proud of. If all of this can be done, this class can be a great one full of learning and fun.

  38. I think the qualities a teacher possesses have a huge effect on the students. In my opinion, a teacher should genuinely care about their students. It makes class easier if the teacher has a sense of humor and uses different techniques to teach. It is important to engage all of their students. Not all kids learn the same, so teachers should vary how they teach the lessons. Also, the teachers need to be organized. The students in the class need to be open to learning. If all the students are working hard and trying their best to learn, they will be sure to succeed. It is also important that they are on task and contributing to class discussions. As a class, the teacher and the students need to work together to form a positive learning environment.

  39. It takes a lot of qualities and effort from both the students
and their teacher in order to make up the ideal class. I would say
that the qualities of a good teacher are simple, they need a good
sense of humor, the ability to keep a class in order without seeming
cold or mean, and a mind that is very open to her ideas, as well as
the ideas f the students. also, a good teacher is able to make the
topics they teach interesting and exciting, so the students will want
to take part in discussions and debates. However, you need more than
just a great teacher if you want a great class, you also need
students. Now, not all students have to be super geniuses who get
straight A's and always have their hand up first, but students who put
their best foot forward in class. This would mean: Coming to class
prepared and on time with the material studied and understood,
participating often in class, and bringing up good points that show
deep thinking. Also, students need to get along with each other and
insure that other students feel the classroom is a safe place to
learn, and participate. I believe that if both the students and the
teacher put effort into carrying out these characteristics, Mrs.
Smith's English 9 Honors class will be the best ever!

  41. I think that the qualities of a good teacher is one that keeps your attention and doesn’t get upset when a student doesn’t understand something, instead they try to help that student succeed in their classroom. I also believe that a good teacher needs to be able to let the student have a way to express their feeling on something to not only the teacher but also the rest of the class. It’s important that the teacher is able to listen to what the students are saying and give responses that the students will understand and be able to discuss upon. A good teacher should be able to keep the class on task, but also have fun, and not be too overly serious. They need to relate to the students and keep up with current technology whether it is Facebook and twitter, or the newest computer server; they need to at least know what it is, so that they are able to use the technology to prepare the students for the future jobs they will have. The same applies for the student. They need to know when to update their server or stay connected to the newest trends on the internet to keep up with everyone else in the class and be prepared for the future. A good student is also composed of a good listener, but one who is also willing to speak in a group discussion. They need to do the homework to their best ability and ask for help when they need it. They can’t be afraid to put themselves out there; they just need to take a shot. A good class comes in here. If a student takes a chance and put themselves out there, the class has to be respectful because everyone is going to make a mistake at some point and it won’t be a good class if every time someone takes a chance, and the class responds negatively enough to keep that student from putting in their input. The rest of the class needs to respect the chance that person just took. They can’t make fun of them, or be rude, even if they don’t agree with what that person just said. I think that these are the qualities of a good teacher, student, and class.

  42. In my opinion, a great teacher is someone that not only makes the entertaining things fun, but also is able to make the dull or challenging things fun. I think this is important because when something is fun you actually want to do it. Not wanting to do something, weather its homework or a class, is one of the major struggles in school so if you can eliminate that in even one subject it will make things a lot easier.

The qualities of a student might be more important than good qualities of a teacher because it is mostly our peers that mold our experience so I think some of the most important qualities in a student are a good attitude and an open mind. This will not only increase the students enjoyment for that class but will also make your peers class much more enjoyable.

A good class is simply a class that creates a good learning enviornment. By that I mean that everyone is respectful and open-minded. This helps everyone not only learn better but also makes class more enjoyable making it easier to do well in class.

  43. Personally, I think that a great teacher is someone who really cares about their students, and makes lessons fun, not just having boring lectures. A good teacher is someone who really inspires their students, who makes them WANT to learn. Great teachers teach the classes that I'm actually excited for. When I walk into the room, I just wonder what we're going to do next. Those are great qualities in a teacher

The qualities of a student are just as important. We learn from our peers too, so we need to set a good example for others. A great student should always bring personality into the classroom. Someone who is not only fun, but gets their homework and assignments done on time. They need to listen to the teacher and at least try to take part in every class activity. But most importantly, even if the student isn't having fun, they should still keep an open mind about the class.

A good class is a class that listens, completes assignments, and creates a good learning environment for others. The class will always be positive about learning, as well as cooperate together to get things done. A good class should be able to make the teacher's job a little easier.

  44. In my opinion, a class is good when the entire environment feels comfortable and welcoming. I have had many different classes, each that I feel different in due to the behaviors of the teachers and students around me. I know who I am when I’m most “at home” in an area, and not many classes can easily bring that out. To achieve an easy going space, it’s important that all individuals, teacher and students, are supportive, encouraging, understanding, and flexible. One should be able to receive help and support from anyone in the classroom, whatever their issue is. Everyone has to be willing to assist each other so that we all have someone to turn to in time of need and can expect the same treatment back. The teacher and students should all be excited to learn, or at least have a positive, friendly attitude, so that the class atmosphere is kind and encouraging. Everyone should feel relaxed when saying their opinions, contributing to discussions, and asking questions; in return, the rest of the students shouldn’t judge anyone for what they’re thinking. Other key behaviors of the students and teacher are to be flexible and understanding. For a teacher, it’s difficult to listen to everyone’s situations and problems, so for the most part, students have to do whatever it takes to just get the assignment done. But from a student’s end, it can get really stressful with other activities and obligations, and there are some times when we just can’t do something for whatever reason, and at that time, all we want is a nice teacher that will listen and help us create a solution so that we can keep our high grades and still remain sane. Students should also aid each other, so that occurrences like this don’t have to happen. If the teacher and students put effort into creating a classroom that feels like home, everyone will be able to get the most out of the class.

  45. In my opinion, a good teacher is one that is so exciting, enthusiastic, different, that they make the students feel like they want to know more about the subject that they are learning. A good teacher lets the students participate, ask questions, and actually understand what they are learning. A good student will do some of the same. They will listen, ask questions, participate, and learn. Though their homework may not always be correct, I think that if they still try to learn and understand what their homework is, they should get more credit. A good class will listen to each other speak, and actually ask questions and participate. They should help the teacher get more things done by not talking as much and paying attention. The class should never reject an idea to do something that might help, because you never know if it will help the learning process! Trust the teacher and have fun learning.

  46. A good teacher is one that allows and encourages their students to learn a lot. They aren't the "easy teacher". Their class is challenging yet fun. They assign homework that is worthwhile, not "busy work". A good student is one that wants to learn. They advocate for themselves. They are dedicated, do their work, and do it to the best of their abilities. They help further the learning of others as well. A good class is one that has a sense of unity. Everyone helps each other, no one gets left behind. Also, a good class listens, and takes in what they're hearing. A good teacher combined with good students and a good class is the perfect set up for both the students as well as the teacher. It's the perfect learning environment.

  47. We have all experienced our fair share of teachers that just have not been very good. Instead of being a key tool for learning they end up being our obstacle for learning. Sometimes its the teacher thats just recently out of college and has almost no idea what they're getting in to. A good teacher will help you succeed in your school career by teaching you in an interesting way that helps you retain what you learn in class and shows that they love doing their job so we can better do our own. People typically want a teacher with a little bit of humor to keep the learning mood light and enjoyable rather than serious and somewhat boring. The teacher should share some personal things like family and activities that they enjoy so the student can feel more of a connection to the teacher and can see them more as a person and not just some teacher they got assigned to. A good teacher can show that they genuinely care about their students and wants to see them succeed in what they do and will do the best they can to help their students be the best that they can.

There is a type of perfect student that every kid in school should strive be like. They always listen and pay attention to what the teacher is instructing and follows through with it being careful to ask questions and help other people in the class succeed if they are struggling. They are usually in a mood to learn by not being afraid to ask questions and being considerate of their classmates learning around them. Honesty should be one of their top priorities and organization should also be very important to them.

A class can still be a dysfunctional class even if it has one excellent student.
A great class needs to work together and help each other out unselfishly so they can grow academically and ready themselves for the next step in their lives. People in the class should break out of their comfort zones to make new friends and build relationships. Building relationships would grow into becoming comfortable with each other and nobody in the class would be scared to ask for help with problems that they come across. A great class would leave one, going in their separate ways to go to their other classes where they have relationships, work together, and has a teacher that brings them all together so they can learn and prosper in school.

  48. In my opinion there are three main qualities a teacher should have flexibility in their schedule to meet the needs of the student, a very harty sense of humor, and makes the class interesting. A teacher should have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of students because some all students need some degree of help from the teacher even though they might say otherwise. Also I know that I don't have many of the off hours my teachers do but many teachers let me come in after school or before school to help me out. This quality is the most important out of the three. Now a sense of humor is key. The class doesn't always have to be serious it can be fun. When a teacher makes a joke the students remeber that the they are in a classroom not a prison. This is a key quality. Last keeping the class interesting. If the class was not interesting students would ditch or severly hate the class. If this doesn't happen bad things will happen.

A students qualities are just as important as the teachers. We learn form our peers, parents, and teachers. We are still maluble so we need the best example from everyone and I mean everyone. We need to have fun and not just get overloaded and not be that kid that just focuses on school and does nothingelse but school. A student also needs to do sports and other activities.

A good class needs to listen to their teacher and pay attention. A class is not a dictatorship but a democracy so everyone is apart of running a class. So when one person does not do their homework the class can not run as a whole. THat person can't contribute to the discussion that day. Also a good class has to just all be good. LIke when everyone is listening and contributing.

  49. When discussing what a good teacher, a good student, and a good class looks like a variety of opinions will arise. I personally, have a very specific opinion for all of them. To begin, I believe a good teacher must have a certain amount of requirements. One requirement includes, that she must enjoy the topic she teaches. When emphasizing on this point, the teacher will create a trickle down affect on their students. If a child has the ability to experience what love for a topic is, they too can manipulate the same emotion. For example, if a history teacher is discussing if Christopher Columbus is negative or positive towards our society, they could eagerly start and moderate the topic. The teacher may move around with hand gestures, a certain tone of excitement, and acts puzzled by a student’s question and redirect it towards the class. With this, the teacher does not present but instead teaches the topic, while covering the class with excitement and interest. A teacher must also put in the same if not more time than their students do in class and at home. I personally want to know that my teacher is not assigning busy work and throwing it in the trash. Instead I what the teacher to grading the assignment and add positive comments to help improve our learning.
A good student I believe also must fill a certain amount of requirements. When in a class, a student should simply be nice. This in general, is how a perfect world would look like. By being nice, I mean the student should show respect towards the teacher and others. If a student decides to attract attention in a way of disrupting the class, the student is not showing respects. This individual is disrupting other students from learning and making the teacher’s life stressful and aggravating. Instead, a student should treat the class like a place of high level thinking, a place that everyone is putting out time to acquire an amount of knowledge which will serve them for the rest of their life time. A good student should also accept the fact that learning is not simply showing up to class. They must learn that time and energy must enter into the equation of learning a certain topic. A student must exhibit punctuality to class, and turn in assignment on time and with a certain amount of pride in the work they set forward. When a project is due, a good student should acknowledge the work that they have is the best they can put on the table.
A good class is a combination of both of these aspects. When a teacher and a student follow these guidelines, a good class will automatically fall into suit. This would look like all students acting respectful, all homework done with quality ever night, all students caring about the class, and the teacher making the day fun and enjoyable for the entire student body.

  50. A quality teacher is one who is active and involved in their students class, rather than simply lecturing. Ideally, the teacher can help and teach their students in a very individualized way. Unfortunately, modern class sizes make that impossible.
A good student may exhibit qualities such as punctuality, organization, and a genuine interest in the fact that high school will effect their lives. They would let the teacher teach, ask lots of questions, and complete extra credit in any way they can.
A good class is one that engages one another in discussion, and can do so without spiraling into frivolity.

  51. I believe that a good teacher should be kind and somewhat funny, and very understanding towards their students. They need to be able to get their students to learn in a way that the students feel comfortable learning, not the way the teacher does. A good teacher should also have a sort of personality that the students find approachable, so they can feel comfortable asking questions if they don't understand something. Also, a good teacher should be rather relatable to the students, so that the teacher and students can understand each other. A good student, I believe, is someone who is hard-working and organized, and who listens attentively in class. They should ask questions if they don't understand and turn in their work on time. A good student should also have a pleasant, cheerful personality whenever they walk into the classroom and should always be eager to learn the lesson. They should always do their best and never misplace an assignment. Lastly, a good classroom should always be filled with eager learners. They should all have their things out when the bell rings, and be ready to go when the teacher walks in. Everyone should ask questions if they don't understand what they are being taught and should work their hardest on every project. The entire classroom should be good at listening and writing down notes. They should also all be silent while someone else is speaking. These are what I believe to be the qualities of a good teacher, a good student, and a good classroom.

  52. There is no "perfect classroom", but by telling you what, in my opinion, are good qualities of a teacher, a student, and a classroom, I can hopefully give you a good idea of one. Being flexible, giving positive feedback, and being funny are all qualities of a good teacher. When a teacher is flexible, he/she can fit more meetings with students into their schedule. This allows more students to get help and ultimately helps the student to get a better grade. Giving positive feedback is another important quality of a good teacher. If a teacher gives negative feedback, then he/she is ONLY telling the student what they did wrong. If a teacher gives positive feedback, then he/she is giving encouragement and telling the student what they did right, THEN telling them what they could do to make whatever they were doing better. Being funny is also an important quality of a good teacher. Being funny can give a positive vibe in class, and usually make the quality of the work from the students to go up. A teacher can have all the best qualities in the world, but if the student does not work hard, work well with others, or turn in his/her homework, then none of this means anything. If a student doesn't work hard in class then they will most likely not learn anything. This is why it is so important for a student to have good work ethics. If a student can work well with others, then they can get more done in their groups in class. Because there are so many instances where you will work in a collaborative group this is an essential skill. Finally, if a student doesn't turn in homework, then they will be setting back their grade a great deal. This is because homework is such a big part of your grade. And when you put these two together (qualities of good teachers and students) you should get good qualities of a class. These include class rules and disciplined behavior. When you establish class rules you can have a more productive class. For example, if you have a rule of no chewing gum then you don't have to stop every class period to tell somebody they cant chew gum. Finally, if your class has disciplined behavior there are likely to be less personal problems during class. These are all qualities for good teachers, students, and classes.

  53. As a student at Arapahoe High School, one thing we hear often is our school’s high level of excellence. This level of excellence is not only achieved by the students, but also the teachers and classrooms behind us. The qualities that I think make a teacher great are creativity, compassion and enthusiasm in what they teach. After being in school for nine years, I have written upwards of 5 "What I Did This Summer" paragraphs and essays. Creativity is important because students quickly lose interest if they are repeating the same thing, or style, day after day, year after year. If a teacher is creative with their teaching and assignments, students will be more likely to show interest and development in what they are doing. The next important trait for a teacher is compassion. Without some understanding many students will begin disliking the teacher, again losing their love of learning. The third trait a teacher should possess is enthusiasm in what they teach, otherwise the class is a pain for both the teacher and the student. These traits are just a few of the qualities of a good teacher, but the three that I believe are the most important

With students, there are more than a few traits that shape a good one. The three that I find are most important are responsible, hardworking and willing to learn. Responsibility is important, because without it, students are setup for failure. The next trait is hardworking, any student can be responsible, but without a hardworking drive students won't try in what they do, which is more times than not a large part of the grade. Willing to learn is of course a very important part of being a good student. Without the drive to learn and perform well, a student might fail to take anything from their education.

When you take a teacher and add students you ultimately get a classroom. Even with good students and a good teacher, there are also certain things that make a good classroom such as open-mindedness, and discipline. Open-mindedness is important because without it there is less respect for their opinion, and therefore lots of conflict or drama either between the teacher and peer, or peer to peer. The next trait for a successful classroom is having a disciplined class that understands the rules and guidelines. With all of these traits of teachers, students and classrooms there will be happy students, happy teachers and happy classrooms though out our High School.

  54. What do I think are the qualities of a good teacher? A good teacher in my mind is one who can easily make a student laugh. If a teacher can make me laugh I will automatically warm up to them and pretty much respect him/her more. I always enjoy a good joke, especially if it's from a teacher! Also a good teacher is one who can adapt to the different learning styles of different students. Every student learns in a different way, and if a teacher only knows how to explain something in one way then they are no good to the other students who don't understand. A good classroom is one who gets along almost perfectly with the teacher. If the classroom is good and respectful to the teacher, then the teacher will be respectful back. Good students are ones who can easily learn without making it harder than it needs to be. They don't annoy the teacher or constantly make sarcastic jokes. That is what I think makes a good teacher, student, and classroom.

  55. Good teachers, students, and classes are all interconnected and reliant upon each other. If one part is missing, learning is much more difficult and not nearly as enjoyable. The relationship is reciprocal, and rarely comes together, but when it does, it often changes both the students and the teacher and how they approach learning.
A good teacher’s goal is not only to increase a student’s knowledge in a certain area of learning, but to better that student as a learner and as a person, so that the student comes away from that class with knowledge that can be applied to all aspects of school and life. They find a way to interest a student so that the student wants to learn more as opposed to just shoving knowledge at the class. A sense of humor and an ability to relate to students helps to break up class so that when students need to focus, they can fully apply themselves. A good teacher allows students to have some control over how and when they do work, because no one likes to be micromanaged, the student is able to figure out what works specifically for them, and learn more responsibility. The most important trait of an inspirational teacher is that they are passionate about what they are teaching and they want to be teaching. If a teacher doesn’t care about what they are teaching, students won’t care about what they are learning.
A good student wants to better themself, and be constantly increasing their skills and knowledge. If a student is driven to be successful, they will do the things necessary to get there. They will listen in class and do the homework and actually try to learn something every day. A good student is someone who asks questions because they want to know more and they want to understand what they are learning. They want to discuss with others in order to get different views and expand their knowledge.
In a good class, many questions are asked and plenty of different opinions are shared. There may be disagreements, but they are respectful because everyone’s opinions are valued and appreciated. The students are working towards improving themselves and the teacher is doing everything in his or her power to help the students do that. Class discussions happen often, and everyone participates. In a good class, a combination of a passionate teacher and eager to learn students creates an environment that is enjoyable and conducive to learning.

  56. I believe that to be considered a "good" teacher, you have to teach the students at a pace where they become very familiar with the information that you are teaching. To do this, I think it would be good to ask the students where they are at in your class and if they understand the material well. If the whole class doesn't understand it very well, then you should slow down and maybe take an extra day to go over the information better. I think a "good" teacher is good at explaining things and show they care. I think the qualities of a "good" student is that they are respectful and are not afraid to go to the teacher if they are struggling. They are always prepared for class and pay attention during the course of the hour, every day. They ask and answer questions during class and always participate in it. I think the qualities of a "good" class is that they help each other out. They listen to the teacher and follow instructions. I think that they should always be respectful and just use common sense and courtesy.

  57. There are many qualities that come together to make a good teacher. I think a good teacher is able to connect with their class so that each student feels comfortable around them. This is important so that the student and teacher can work together each day in class, and especially if the student needs help on specific assignments. Another great quality in a teacher is the ability to change up their teaching routine to make the class a little more interesting each day. If a class is exactly the same every day it can be hard to pay attention and focus. The best teachers can focus their class each day and help them to learn a lot, but are still a little bit entertaining and fun. The final quality in a good teacher is understanding. This is very important because as a student there can be concepts that you don’t understand right away and might need extra help on. Teachers should be able to work with a student if something comes up where they might need extra time on assignments. Another important aspect of school is good students. The qualities that make up a good student can be very hard to achieve. These include quiet, active listening, planning and working ahead in order to stay on schedule, and doing your best on your school work. Many students possess all of these qualities, but they do not have them during their whole time at school. A good classroom depends on both the teacher and the students. I think it depends more on the students. The students would be able to work together and teach each other without just giving out answers. This is very helpful in further understanding topics taught in class. Working together is dependent on the teacher allowing this process to happen. There are many other qualities of a good classroom, but they are similar to the qualities of good teachers and students.

  58. Arapahoe is known for staff, system, and a positive and advanced school in general. This level of excellence is not only achieved by the students, but the staff as well. Where would we be without teachers? Probably not where we are now. The classroom is a place of learning. Some things in a classroom can affect students personally, and affect the class as a whole. There are infinite qualities that reflect teachers, classrooms, and students in a positive light.
The qualities that set Arapahoe's teachers apart, as particularly good teachers, are the levels of understanding at our school. All teachers have gone through exactly what you are going through, but good teachers will use that experience in their teaching. Not only does that relationship help the students, but the learning experience. Relationship is key. If a teacher puts an effort into getting to know their students, the students will feel more comfortable and relaxed. The most important thing that will make a teacher a good teacher is putting the students needs first.
The student you are and become is the most important thing for an education. The students you are could affect every other student around you, whether that is in an affective or distracting way. A good student is responsible, respectful, and concentrated. A good student embraces struggles rather than avoid them or getting frustrated. The people we become in high school could affect our whole life.
In a class or a classroom, students should feel comfortable stating their thoughts and opinions. No one should feel unsafe or vulnerable. Students need to know they will not be judged for saying what they think, and that they are in an open-minded environment that will enhance both their personal learning, and everyone else's too.

  59. English class is very important for skills later on in life. I find I can understand the class better when a teacher, the class as a whole, and the individual students collaborate well. The classroom is a team that supports everyone and considers everyones ideas no matter how big or crazy they are. I may want to do an elaborate colorful project while another student may want to do a structured essay. A good collaboration lets the student do what he or she wants to do and lets them be individuals. Some other characteristics of a good student are being persistent even when the class gets tough or you “don’t want to do it”. A good student can think of an easier way to complete an assignment, but still get it done on time with great content. A good student isn’t afraid to share their ideas with the class. They are not afraid to disagree with a classmate if they truly believe in their own opinion. To be a good student you should also take careful notes and ask questions. To sum it up the best students who get good grades on projects can collaborate with others, share their ideas and, and clarify any problems. A good teacher is always thinking about his or her students. They are asking questions like: how will this benefit my student? Why should I use class time to teach this? What should be the work load be? A good teacher wants to help their students at all times. They want to make the class fun but at the same time make us think. A good teacher makes you want to come to class, so it’s not just a class its the start to a career choice. A good class listens, shares and thinks together. They work together to make everyone feel part of the class and they make sure to see everyone as equal. A good class takes others ideas and puts their own spin on it and helps each other succeed. A good class values others grades just as much as their own and tries to help eachother out. So think about this: are you willing to collaborate? Do you value the students in this class? Can you help others succeed? If you are willing to do these things than you will have qualities of a great student a great teacher and a great class.

  60. As a student, I think it's important for a teacher to have good qualities that will help students to the best of their abilities. The most important quality, in my opinion, is being understanding. I think that teachers need to understand that not everybody is perfect and there will be times that we forget homework or something. We are young and trying to figure out how to manage our schedules and I believe if teachers can understand this, than they will truly be able to be a great teacher. Another great quality is a good sense of humor. When teachers are boring, the class is bored and doesn't pay attention. When a teacher has a good sense of humor, the class pays more attention because they want to hear their jokes and are happier overall. Teachers aren't the only key to success, though. The students have to be willing to learn and participate. They need to be engaged and know when to ask questions. I also think it's important for students to encourage each other and help when needed. A good class listens and shares ideas and accepts everyone for who they are. They work together and make everyone feel like they are a part of the class.
