December 5, 2012 period 5 scribe

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today in class, we spent the majority of our time presenting the class Loggel project

We divided up the project based on the different parts of George Orwell's life:

  • Childhood
  • adolescence
  • young adulthood
  • adulthood
  • the writing period of 1984
After we presented, Smith led the class in a discussion regarding the project:

Smith asked us what we all thought about working together and we all came to the consensus that although it was difficult to organize at first, we were all pretty happy with the way it turned out. We also discussed leadership roles in the class. Several people rose to the challenge, while others seemed happy to follow directions. Smith then explained how George Orwell was trying to make a point about leadership as well. It is easier for a leader to seem strong, smart and powerful if they surround themselves with people who are much less capable than themselves.

Also, a quick reminder that Smith will be gone tomorrow so she cannot answer any of your questions in class!

Homework: Read pages 69 - 117 for in class fishbowl tomorrow

Only 13 more school days until finals are over and it's Christmas break!!
